Daily Devotional

I wanted to mention a book that is listed in my current reading list in a bit more detail.  I am currently using "I Lift Up My Soul", Devotions to Start Your Day with God by Charles F. Stanley.  Each day, there is a prescribed Scripture reading and a Key Verse. 

I start my day with this devotional each day, reading the prescribed Scripture and Key Verse and then the text by Dr. Stanley.  It is awesome as well as amazing how applicable the Scripture and text are to things in my own life on a daily basis.  Each morning, while reading the devotional, I can relate this to something that is currently happening in my life.

This is a great devotional tool and an absolutely wonderful way to start the day.

"The Source of My Strength"

I have gotten some more reading done in this book.  I have read the chapters on Words of Comfort for those who are lonely, those who are fearful and those who are suffering from abuse. Each of these sections give excellent guidance from God's word on how to gain comfort from the Lord in these situations.

I am really looking forward to getting more reading done in this book.

Continued Reading - The Source of My Strength

I continue my reading in this book.  I am really enjoying this book.  It addresses common problems for which we all need comfort.  So far, my reading has encompassed being Lonely, carrying emotional baggage and being Fearful. 

I look forward to continuing through several other areas that are addressed in the book, areas in which we all, at one time or another, need comfort.

Suspended Reading - The Story

I have suspended reading on this book for the moment.  The book appears to be excellent and I will resume this reading a bit later.

Goodbye to a Great Man!

Whether you are an "Apple" fan or not, you have to be in awe of the legacy that Steve Jobs leaves behind. An icon in the world of technology, he will most certainly be missed!!

"Courageous" - Awesome Movie

Courageous

I realize that this does not concern a reading, but I went to see the new movie "Courageous" this afternoon.  Although I don't watch many movies, this was the best movie I have viewed in quite some time. 

For those of you who are easily bored by movies, this story line catches your attention right up front and does not let go.  The message of the movie is nothing short of absolutely AWESOME!!

I highly recommend that you go see this movie if you get a chance.
